  1. Use a professional font and font size: Calibri, Arial or Times New Roman with a 10 to 12pt. font size will do.
  2. Do not exceed the one page document and five paragraphs. Keep a word count of around 350 words and four paragraphs.
  3. Personalize your cover letter, and if possible, address it to the individual responsible for hiring. Use LinkedIn and the company’s about us and staff pages to find out more about the management team and overall business culture.
  4. Do proper research. Determine how your role as a project manager may impact their business, or how you can utilize your training and experience to advance projects successfully. In addition, review the business vision, mission statement, short- and long term objectives. Make sure you know what’s expected for this position.
  5. Showcase your qualifications. Do not only list your skills and experience, but provide context. For example, make your achievements quantifiable. That means you need to include numerical and statistical information.
