Dear Mr. White,

With reference to your job posting on [website URL] under section [‘Careers at’], I would like to apply for the medical assistant position at [Health Center X]. During my voluntary service at [Institution] I heard about your health center and I am convinced that my experience working in fast-paced environments matches the job duties. In this cover letter, I will elaborate on my enthusiasm, motivation and qualifications required for this job opportunity.

To shortly introduce myself, my name is [Katy Becker] and I am a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) approved by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). I was pleased when reading the job posting. The clinical and administrative duties listed in the job description happens to be exactly the same experience that I seek for my career path. According to my ex employers, see references, I excelled in effectively and efficiently examining and treating patients. I also noticed that [Health Center X] supports external mentoring programs for career development and professional growth.

In my previous role as medical assistant at [Institute], my tasks ranged from drawing blood and checking vital signs to managing client records and scheduling appointments. In 2020, I single handedly replaced the old supplies and equipment inventory system and brought in one that deemed 55% more efficient than the previous one. That year I also provided immediate CPR to a patient who went into cardiac arrest during a medical examination. I was praised for my proactive and calm demeanour (see references).

Attached is my resume for your review and consideration. I am interested to further discuss how my clinical and administrative qualifications can contribute to your patients and team. If you need any additional information, don’t hesitate to contact me at [Phone number] or [Email address]. Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Katy Becker
